Zbigz review – Is it really the #1?

Fetching speed is tied to several seeds and quality of the torrent client as well. For example, few private trackers support only some torrent clients.
[Zbigz] – Downloading speeds
I tested their speed with files that were highly seeded and with a file that had only 20 seeds at the time of the download. I always test with multiple files because not all seeds have the same quality. With the above 290 seeds file, I found Zbigzs fetching speed peak at 3 MB per second, which is good average speed. The lower seeded file had speed changing from 1.3 MB to 0.7 MB per second, which is good, but it shows us that the scaling of speed is not significant. These numbers show that higher seeded files have lower speed in ration then low seeded files.
After fetching phase, your file will be in your cloud storage. You can access it on our personal computer or laptop without a problem, but the design is not optimized for mobile devices. I tested it with Android phone (Pixel 2 XL), iPhone (iPhone X) and with Blackberry Playbook. All three had small issues that could be fixed in the future. Free users will have adds on their storage screen, which can cover around 30 % of the view in the worst cases, but it is bearable.

Currently, there is not too much to do with your file. Zbizg doesn’t have rename option, ability to move your data or creating brand new folders. But there is a workaround, which is their sync to Google Drive. It is currently the latest feature; though it has small flaws, it has great potential. I would recommend it as a way of interacting with your files. If you download a video file, you can stream it. The stream option works fine on the computer, and it is a perfect way of watching movies without downloading them to your computer. Sadly, currently, there is no support for subtitles and quality settings. You can also listen to your audio files without downloading them. I find this handy because I don’t clutter my computer. And If you sync your downloaded torrents, you can also watch them on your phone in Google Drive app.

But if you need your file on your computer, you can download it. This download is not the fastest one, because the speed of this service depends on the strength of the connection between your device and Zbigz servers. This strength depends on many factors. But if I simplify it to the bone, the farther more you are from the servers, the slower the download is. This simple formula works in most cases, but it is not the whole truth. But if I applicate it on the Zbigz and compare it with my tests, it works here. I have seen speed drops in South Africa, Malaysia, and New Zealand, which all are far away from Europe/North America where most of the servers typically are. Otherwise, for this Zbigz review, I say that the download was not bad but also not great. Something around 3.6

For simplifying the whole process, Zbigz has a Chrome browser extension. This extension helps you to download torrents with a lower amount of clicks. Currently, this app has a few problems that users mentioned in their reviews on the Chrome store, but I am sure that Zbigz works on fixing them.
