Megabox review – Should you get your Megabox now?
Megabox.me is cloud torrent downloader, which is there for you when you need to download a torrent. This downloading has two phases, and we call the first one a fetching. Megabox.me uses its server to fetch for your torrent, which works as a layer of security for you and provides you with a way of avoiding IP tracking or IP monitoring. Let’s jump into the Megabox review.

The speed of fetching depends on a few factors, but the main ones are number and quality of seeds, and on a client that downloads the torrents. There is no way that you, as an end-user, could control which of the popular clients is used, but you can use files with a large number of seeds. That is why, when I tested it, I used a variety of data with a variety of seeds.

The results show me that speed with highly seeded files (over 190 seeds) is an average one with the highest peak on 0.25 MB per second, and with the file that was seeded poorly (22 seeds at the time of download) was worse, and peaked only on 50 KB per second. I also experienced a few speed drops that are not tied with the number of seeds, and I want to mention them. I would guess that the reason behind it was an overwhelming action on their servers by a lot of users. Simply, I would say that it looks like their servers have issues with high traffic.

After downloading your files, you will have access to it in your cloud storage that is provided by Megabox, and that comes with every account. The design of this storage is good looking one. It has great support for mobile devices, which I tested with iPhone X, Blackberry Playbook and Pixel 2 XL. The results show me that it works without bigger flaws. All data transfers are protected by the SSL layer, which is another layer of protection for premium users. Your files get sorted into a few categories like images, applications, and videos. This sorting is very handy. Currently, there are issues with page speed and login speed. I also find a small issue with adding a new torrent, which sometimes takes a lot of time. This flaw sadly ruins your user experience because you wait a lot for almost every action. All files are stored in a list which is great for file management. I haven’t found any ways of advanced interaction with downloaded files. You cannot rename, create folders, move or sync to other Clouds.
But that is not all, Megabox has more.
On the other hand, they have a great notification system, which I find very useful. This system works hand in hand with adding torrents. If you downloaded a torrent file, you can stream it. It is also possible to play your audio files. This feature is only for premium users. Their media player is a simple one, and I didn’t find a subtitle option. The dev team can change this defect in the future, and I would appreciate it a lot. There is also no way of changing the quality of your video. I have said it many times, and I will say it once more. Changing quality is a handy option because sometimes you want to lower your data transfer, maybe because you are don’t want to use your all mobile data.
[Megabox] – Privacy and reliability
It is also possible to download your files to your device. Speed of this download depends on the quality, or, in other words, the strength of your connection, between your device and Megabox.me servers. This connection is not always the same. It varies, based on your local provider and many more details. If I simplified it to the bone, the further you are, the slower you download speed would be. This term is not always the truth, but in most of all cases, it should work. I tested their download speed with a VPN, which means I did have the ability to change my location. In North America and Europe, I experienced download speed that was around one-third of my baseline download speed, which is an average in my eyes. As I moved far from these regions, the download speed dropped down quickly. Biggest drop downs I have experienced were in New Zealand, Taiwan, South Africa, Singapore, and Brazil. These countries were so far the slowest ones I had the opportunity to test.
Conclusion
If I sum up all the points that I’ve said before in this Megabox review, then Megabox.me is an average downloader. I rate the speed of their service by two stars out of 5, their service 2 out of 5 for the speed issues with loading your pages and overall small flaws. And their security as 3 out of 5 as well.
